Our Amazing World

A friend sent me a BBC site to checkout... I had to watch it twice. Many thoughts raced through my head. This morning is cold, but I am warm in my house with a kitchen and bathroom. Yes, I have concerns during the day,, but I do know where my food is coming from and I have a car or two in the drive way... Oh, the blessings we take for granted.

Friendships, Yoyo's

As you know the Yoyo's are my quilt Circle, we meet monthly, sometimes working on challenges, other times projects that we have seen and want to share.... When they were over the other day, we took some time to visit our llama's. Peggy decided that maybe they should be honorary members.. and took this photo of Indy checking out her camera.

As I looked at the photos, my thinking went to friendships.. Lately, I have been thinking of the friendship of humans, but how intense are our friendships with our animals?

River is up, no down

It has been snowing, up the mountain, and the river is up again.. I just thought it would be fun to tip the camera and have it all sliding down hill.. a little unnerving isn't it? Does this rock your world,, or is just a bit of whimsy? What happens when the horizon shifts... do you shift with it?

Amazing Views, when the Fog Lifts

We were blessed to have wonderful weather most of the time.. I do have some photos when the fog was in also.. but no point in showing those.
Needless to say, there are places to walk to and explore.. One year some of the gals walked the bridge.. Not me.. I thought I was brave enough to go to the light house..
This is my annual Ocean Fix.. the smell and sound of the sea is mesmerizing. Birds screech and wildlife is all around. We did not have any run ins with the skunks or raccoons.. although there were sitings, and they did try to get into our work room.. You know food and quilting go hand in hand.
Sunsets are spectacular! What a blessing to share all this with friends..

Sketch Book "Purse", Journaling

I took my sketch book with me, along with pens, paper, and brushes, some watercolor crayons etc.. Did I work with them?.. no, the week went too fast.. some excuse.. BUT I did make a "purse" to carry them in and keep them organized. The main area holds the big things, a smaller pocket in the front, which is hard to see, holds my brushes and pens.. A flap covers the whole area, and a strap to hang it over my shoulder.. Just need a glass of water and I am all set to sketch and paint. That was one thing I did finish at camp...

Quilt Camp 2011

Quilt Camp is a very special place.. This year I thought I would take some photos of what I packed. A week to do what ever quilt I feel like working on. Oh, what will I bring???.. Well I included 4 projects and knitting.. just in case.. Hand work, strip sewing, and the fear of not having the right things makes me think about all the projects left behind, that I might find time for..
Karen and I usually sit together, sometimes we even mark the half way point.. I say that in jest, we have quilted next to each other for over 14 years..and know when we spread out too much..we just push the other person back to their side...and laugh
Karen, Gail and I room together and we always make some little gift for each other.. This year Karen made each of us these wonderful rugs to put next to our bunks. Mine is now next to my bed at home. Love the colors, went perfectly with the quilt I always bring.
Gail made us project bags.. wonderful idea also.. and I have lots of pieces to put in there! I showed what I took in a previous blog.

We had a marvelous time during the week, great meals, lots of quilting and friendships enjoyed for another year, wow, time passes so fast!.. Karen and I came home with terrible colds,, so that is why I have not been on the net.. Trying to get well and to catch up. I had so much planned, and this has really slowed me down!
