Moutain Picnic- Kathy's Quilt
Kathy's black, red and white Mountain Picnic... we designed the little wall hanging approx. 32" X 32". I say approx. because it depends on the size of the borders. We just told each other the colors we were going to use, and then the rest was up to our creativity.
That is the nice part, you can add what ever you would like. Extra leaves, buttons, specialty decorative pins, different handles, maybe even a little lace hanging out of the basket. This class is starting on Sept. 7, through Adult Ed. for 6 weeks. We just need a few more sign-ups..
Choice of colors is up to you. First meeting you will not need your machine, we will be going over supplies and teach how to do English Paper Piecing.. you don't even need your fabric yet, because we will have sample pieces to work on, just bring your sewing supplies. New quilters are welcome.. we will be reviewing and sharing techniques. This will be a small class of 12 so every one will get attention if you want it.
I am a mixed media fiber/quilt artist who loves to work with gourds, and jewelry. I am easily distracted with the next project, and have many going at one time. I have been teaching Fabric Dyeing and Beginning gourd art for many years. I am blessed with my own home studio. We live in the rolling hills near Yosemite National Park, in central Calif. U.S.A. This is a place of Inspiration, Blue Skies and Great Friends. I volunteer with several organizations, and have memberships in P.E.O., Coarsegold Historical So., Sierra Art Trails, Madera Circle Gallery, Yosemite Western Artist, Timberline Gallery and Sierra Mountain Quilters. I teach at my home studio and at local quilt gatherings.
